Full Time Program Coordinator

Job Responsibilities

  • Safely lift and carry up to ~50lbs of equipment
  • Safely hitch and unhitch trailer
  • Safely drive 15 passenger vans with trailer
  • Entertain guests to and from stargazing location
  • Display "hospitality" demeanor towards guests
  • Lead engaging and informative stargazing programs
  • Locate and discuss planets and deep sky objects
  • Correctly answer most general astronomy questions
  • Provide accurate information about the organization
  • Collect payments and/or donations from guests
  • Perform basic first aid and CPR if necessary

Required Skills & Qualities

  • 21 years old and clean driving record
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of astronomy/telescopes
  • First Aid and CPR Certification
  • Punctuality
  • Teaching experience (preferable)
  • Master’s Degree or equivalent

Job Description

Wyoming Stargazing is seeking an experienced and self-directed individual to fill the position of Program Coordinator. Wyoming Stargazing is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Jackson whose mission is to educate and inspire though Wyoming's extraordinary skies. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for pre/post program logistics, reservations, sales and purchasing, staff training, and some astronomy programming. Prior experience with office management and coordinating educational programming is required. The position is FT, salary DOE. Job Benefits

  • Daytime hours off
  • Only 5 total hours of work/program
  • Your choice of 3-5 programs/week
  • $125/program + tips
