We had an amazing turn-out during our third free public stargazing event last Wednesday. Nearly 20 people showed up during the three hours we were out there. We had some amazing views of Jupiter, the Great Orion Nebula, and the Andromeda Galaxy despite a waxing gibbous moon lighting up the sky. We also had an impromptu lesson about the phases of the moon, which is in my opinion the most difficult astronomical topic to teach a general audience.
