Stargazing Leaders
– Year Round
– Only 5 total hours of work/program
– Your choice of 3-5 programs/week
- Lead engaging and informative stargazing programs
- Correctly answer most general astronomy questions
- Locate and discuss planets and deep sky objects
- Entertain guests to and from stargazing locations
- Provide accurate information about the organization
STEM Educators
– School Calendar Year & Summer Camps
– One-hour classroom and tutoring sessions
– Half-day sessions in the summer
- Teach STEM Lessons (curriculum provided) in local elementary, middle & high schools
- Lead upper level math and science one-on-one tutoring sessions for middle & high school students
- Lead/Assist with outdoor education lessons
Required Experience for both jobs
- Knowledge of STEM, specifically astronomy
- Using telescopes to locate space based objects
- Science and/or Math teaching and/or tutoring experience
- B.A. or B.S. in Math or Science
- First Aid and CPR Certification
Required Qualities for both jobs
- 21 years old
- Excellent communication skills
- Clean driving record
- Clean background check
- Punctuality
- Professional demeanor
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to ~50lbs of equipment
- Ability to safely drive 15 passenger vans with trailer (training provided)
- Ability to safely hitch and unhitch trailer (training provided)
Job Benefits
- $30/hr for STEM Teaching & Tutoring
- $165 per stargazing program + tips
